Shah Rukh Khan post
“LAKR organization. Championship ….cricket in America …. amazing @SunilPNarine74 @Jaseholder98 @Russell12A and the whole team. Very strange. You all said we are here to win and not just participate….and you have shown it. Love u all….Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo!” Shah Rukh wrote. The title win comes weeks after Shah Rukh officially opened the Knight Riders Cricket Stadium in California. Located at the Fairplex in Pomona, Los Angeles County, the venue is the home of the Los Angeles Knight Riders. Inaugurated in July 2026, the stadium currently holds around 5,000 people with temporary stands and plans to expand to a permanent seat of over 20,000. LAKR sealed the tournament with a shock victory over defenders Washington Freedom after a brilliant defense of 164 in a contest that went down to the last ball. Sunil Narine and Jason Holder, who scored more than 1,000 T20 wickets, produced a convincing statement to put Washington Freedom under heavy pressure. Narine struck early by removing Mitchell Owen for the third time in as many meetings before removing Rachin Ravindra and Steve Smith, reducing Freedom to 29/3. Andries Gous and Nikhil Chaudhary continued the chase with a partnership of 65, but Holder turned things around by removing Chaudhary for his 400th T20 haul before removing Ben Dwarshuis and then Gous. Obus Pienaar almost grabbed the win with an impressive 53 off just 24 balls, smashing Freedom back into contention with a long six-run series. The equation came down to just two runs from the last leg, but Pienaar’s takedown in the final round proved to be the winner. Lahiru Milantha was then dismissed for a second run try off the last ball, giving the Knight Riders a stunning victory and their first MLC title. Earlier, LAKR posted 164 after Colin Munro and Andre Fletcher gave them a quick start, but Washington Freedom fought back with Nikhil Chaudhary, Rachin Ravindra and Ben Dwarshuis with steady wickets to reduce the total. However, Narine and Holder’s experience with the ball changed dramatically as the Knight Riders lifted the trophy for the first time, ending the early dominance of MI New York and Washington Freedom in the league.
