‘The Conjuring’ franchise became a huge success in the horror genre, with Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga becoming synonymous with the iconic paranormal investigator couple Ed and Lorraine Warren. The horror universe continues to expand with a prequel film that introduces younger versions of these beloved characters. This new addition to the franchise marks another step in the studio’s ongoing effort to explore the origins and early years of the Warren family’s supernatural investigation.According to Dread Central, Garrett Wareing and Amanda Fix have been cast in a new prequel titled ‘The Conjuring. First Communion’. 24-year-old actor Wareing played the role of the younger Ed Warren, while Canadian actress Amanda Fix played the younger Lorraine Warren. Directed by Rodrigue Huart, the prequel film was co-written by Ian Goldberg and Richard Naing. Filming has begun on the feature, with production continuing on the prequel project.

Amanda Fix carries her own array of production credits. The Canadian actress made her film debut in ‘Broken Diamonds’ in 2021. He appeared in the series ‘Kung Fu’, ‘High School’, ‘Orphan Black. Echoes’, and a streaming series this year. She also plays the younger version of Gillian Anderson in the upcoming film ‘Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma’, directed by Jane Schoenbrun.

‘The Prayer. Release of First Communion and expansion of the franchise
The story for ‘The Conjuring. First Communion’ has not been revealed by the studio, but the prequel has already booked a release date for September 10, 2027, just before the Halloween season. Earlier in the year, the studio also released ‘The Revenge of La Llorona’ in theaters on April 9, 2027, as the sequel to ‘The Curse of La Llorona’.‘The Conjuring’ universe has grown to include nine films. ‘The Conjuring’, ‘Annabelle’, ‘The Conjuring 2’, ‘Annabelle. Creation’, ‘The Nun’, ‘Annabelle Comes Home’, ‘The Conjuring. The Devil Made Me’, ‘The Nun II’, and ‘The Conjuring. Last Rites’, which was released in 2025 and became a huge commercial success. The franchise continues to expand with new storylines that explore different aspects of the supernatural world established in the original films.
