India made history on Monday with a stunning 270-run victory over England on Day 4 of the first women’s Test at Lord’s, making it a record-breaking victory led by Yastika Bhatia’s maiden spell and Kranti Gaud’s seven-wicket haul at the iconic venue.On Sunday, India extended their dominance through Bhatia, whose superb 113 set the visitors second. Showing excellent footwork against the spinners and a beautiful display against the seamers, the left-hander became the first woman to score a Test century at Lord’s.They received helpful support from Smriti Mandhana, who made 70, before Richa Ghosh added the final half-century that saw India declare on 341 for seven, leaving England with a daunting target of 457.England’s bowlers were rewarded through Sophie Ecclestone, who took five wickets, while Lauren Bell impressed with the results. However, the target always seemed to go beyond the recipients on the ground of providing more support to the seamstresses.Indian travelers lost little time to enter. Kranti Gaud, who took five wickets in the first innings, struck first ball to chase England away, dismissing Tammy Beaumont, before Sayali Satghare produced a sharp delivery to leave the home side reeling.
