55-year-old actor Matt Damon has been candid about his life for the past two years. While he was riding the success of ‘The Odyssey,’ the actor opened up about the changes in his life after the age of 50, noting that things are clearer now and he has been living a happy life lately.

The popular actor recently revealed how his life changed after he celebrated his 50th birthday six years ago. While talking to PEOPLE, the actor shared that aging forced him to recalibrate his priorities and gave him the necessary clarity in life.He added, “You get to the other side of 50, and at least for me, I really start to feel that time is the most valuable commodity there is. I just want to be intentional about what I do with it and make sure I spend it where I want to spend it.” He also shared that he now has three top priorities in life: “my family and work,” as well as his non-profit organization that provides clean water to the poverty-stricken.On the contrary, Damon and his wife, Luciana Barroso, have four daughters. Alexia (27), Isabella (20), Gia (17), and Stella (15). While talking about his family, he shared that, “There are two older children who are not in the nest and knowing how fast the last years go, we try to be conscious of what we can do.” He also shared that he wants to grow his film company as well, which he founded with his best friend, Ben Affleck.

Matt Damon admits that he has calmed down in his life

The actor revealed that things slowed down a bit for him after he turned 50 years old. He added, “That’s a perfect life. I seem to have calmed down a bit and I’m not catching up. I just want to do the work that I think is best on my own terms and the things that I believe in. “He also added that as he gets older, a lot of things are out of his control, which is something he has to come to terms with. Damon shared, “I’m just trying to figure out what I can control and what I can’t.
