Delhi University has concluded the first round of CSAS undergraduate admissions for the academic year 2026-27 and successfully filled 63,756 seats. 15,265 candidates confirmed their admission through frozen seat allocation, while 48,153 candidates chose to upgrade. The second round of allocation will begin on July 25th, with classes starting on July 28th.

Delhi University (DU) has successfully completed the first round of Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) undergraduate admissions for the session 2026-27. The university has filled 63,756 undergraduate seats in the first round, with thousands of candidates opting to either freeze their allotted seats or seek promotion in the next phase of counseling.The first round is now complete and the university has announced that the second round of seat allocation will begin on July 25, 2026. Candidates are advised to check the official Delhi University admissions portal and its CSAS dashboard regularly for further updates.

Over 63,700 seats allocated in first round

According to the university, 63,756 seats have been filled in the first round of admissions to the CSAS portal.Among the admitted candidates:

  • 15,265 applicants chose the ‘freeze’ option, confirming their allocated seats and opting out of further consultations.
  • 48,153 applicants selected the ‘step up’ option, indicating that they wished to be considered for admission to a higher priority course or university in the next round of allocations.

The high number of upgrade requests shows that many students aim to gain entry to their first choice university or course while retaining their current offer.

The second round of enrollment will begin on July 25

Delhi University has confirmed that the second round of CSAS undergraduate admissions will begin on July 25, 2026.Candidates seeking upgraded seats or candidates who were unable to secure admission in the first round should closely monitor their admission dashboard to know the seat allotment results and subsequent admission related deadlines.The university urges applicants to stay informed through the official admissions website to avoid missing important announcements or schedules.

The academic session will begin on July 28

In addition to this, it was also stated that the 2026-27 academic year will begin on July 28, 2026.Students who have completed the admission procedures must follow the school’s notification and enroll in their respective colleges. Since the new school year is about to begin after the second round of allocation, students are advised to complete the admission procedures on time.
