Kudrow recalls losing her mother during COVID and recalls feeling abandoned when her family believed they received spiritual signs of her mother’s presence at the time of her death. When his mother died, his brother received the call around 2:30 in the morning or 3 in the morning, while he was awake; her father is awake, her husband is awake, and an alarm goes off at her sister’s house, waking them up as well. But Kudrow just woke up because his brother called him. “I said it’s not weird. He flew around and woke everyone up when he passed,” Kudrow recalled telling his loved ones, before adding, “Except he didn’t wake me up.”A day or two after the funeral, while putting together a slideshow in memory of his mother, Kudrow experienced something strange. He was responding to texts when he saw “MOM” written in the message box, even though he didn’t type it. “There was no cursor or anything, and I thought, ‘I didn’t write that. Removal. Removal. Delete,'” she shared on Mayim Bialik’s podcast. The incident happened again, and then a third time, leaving her confused and intrigued by what happened.

A few days later, Kudrow remained upset that his mother had woken up everyone but him. She complained to her husband that her phone was acting strangely and she narrated the incident to her husband and friends. Their response was amazing. “Lisa, your mom texted you from the front.” During the lockdown, another incident occurred when he noticed “XOXOXO” appearing in a message box even though he hadn’t typed it. His mother never signed messages that way, but one day later, his father shared an old letter from his mother where almost half of the page was filled with “XOXOXOXO”.He also recalls a similar incident on his 60th birthday, when he found a bunch of jumbled letters in a text box that he interpreted as a possible birthday message from his mother. After arranging the letters, he felt like a birthday feeling. Kudrow noticed that he called his son Julian “JU” and interpreted the letters as a possible message from his mother, taking a screenshot of this time as documentation.
