Actor-politician Kamal Haasan has extended his support to students protesting in Delhi-NCR over the alleged NEET paper leak and the reported suicide of students involved in the controversy. The ‘Indian’ actor shared a strongly worded message on X (formerly Twitter), calling for urgent reforms in the education system.

In his post, Kamal opened up about what he described as a growing crisis in the education system. He suggested that students’ voices are not receiving the attention they deserve.Kamal wrote, “We should have listened when a child cried. Instead, we waited until too many of our children died. The system where teaching replaces learning, anxiety replaces curiosity, and criminality replaces merit is rotten.Apart from expressing solidarity with the students, Kamal also addressed social activist Sonam Wangchuk in his message. He asked Wangchuk to end his fast, saying the country would continue to need his guidance in the coming days.He added, “@Wangchuk66, the country needs your conscience for the journey ahead. Please break your fast. To the children of India. You are the best of us. You did your duty. It is now time for the nation to do its duty through you. May your dreams forever be bigger than our failures. @cockroachisback #CJPProtest.”
Tovino Thomas also condemned the alleged use of force
Earlier, Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas also reacted to the ongoing protests. He criticized the alleged use of force against peaceful demonstrators and said young people demanding answers should not face repression.The ‘Lokah’ actor wrote, “Right and wrong may be relative, but this is definitely NOT the way to conduct a peaceful protest. When the future generation of a country speaks, and their voices are met with oppressive force, the future itself is being kicked out. It is the faith of democracy that has been eroded. What are these students doing wrong? every person protesting for a just cause, peace, in any part of our country, I extend my wholehearted solidarity. The right to dissent is not a threat to democracy; in fact it is one of its foundations. And to anyone who doubts my sense of nationalism, I know myself better than you. It goes beyond politics, religion, and other forms of division. My politics is humanity. My faith is peace. Jai Hind.”On the other hand, in response to Tovino Thomas’ post, followers of a popular party staged a protest outside the actor’s house, according to a report by Manorama Online.
