Nissan India has just launched the much awaited Nissan Tekton SUV in the Indian market. Interested customers can book the new Tekton online or by visiting their nearest dealers by paying Rs 21,000, and deliveries will start from July 20. The new Tekton shares its platform with the new Renault Duster and will be manufactured at Renault’s facility in Tamil Nadu. The SUV will compete with the Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Volkswagen Taigun and other mid-size SUVs in the Indian market.

The Nissan Tekton is offered in six variants – Visia, Visia plus, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna and Tekna plus with prices ranging from Rs 10.49 lakh to Rs 18.59 lakh, respectively (ex-showroom). It is offered in two engine options – a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbo petrol with 100 hp, 166 Nm of torque and comes mated only to a 6-speed manual transmission. Another engine option is a 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder turbo petrol that puts out 163hp, 280Nm, and comes paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCT).
