Spread over a 1,200-square-yard plot in upscale Panchsheel Park in South Delhi, the residence is more than just a luxury property. This is where Shah Rukh and Gauri lived before the actor moved to Mumbai to chase his Bollywood dreams.Over the years, Gauri Khan has often spoken about her deep emotional connection to the house, calling it one of the most personal projects she has ever designed.In an earlier interview with iDiva, Gauri said, “Our house in Delhi is almost 20 years old.”

Explaining why the house means so much to him, he added, “As many know I am from Delhi and have lived a large part of my life here, so I thought it would be a good idea to buy and design a house near my mom’s house.He said the house became a place where family memories from different stages of life came together.

One of Gauri’s favorite places in the house is what she calls the “nostalgia wall.”“When I walk into the house, every corner I look at, it’s full of memories,” she said.The wall contains memorabilia collected over the years, including: Suhana Khan:makeup brushes, Aryan Khan:Its badminton racket, AbRam Khan’s first birthday gift, Shah Rukh’s artwork, postcards and gifts exchanged between the couple.“That’s my favorite corner,” says Gauri.
A home designed for comfort

Known for designing homes for many celebrities, Gauri has always said that comfort is more important than luxury when creating a residence.“One’s home should reflect their personality. A home is where you are truly yourself,” he said, adding that he likes spaces that are “clean, comfortable, green and airy with lots of natural light.”

He also revealed that among all the projects he has worked on, his house in Delhi remains one of his favorites because of its emotional value.“I can say that my house in Delhi is one of my favorite projects to work on. It has a very sentimental pull,” he said.
