India made two changes in the fifth and final T20I against England at the Rose Bowl in Southampton, as young opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi dropped out of the playing XI.Sanju Samson he replaced Sooryavanshi, while international Suryansh Shedge came in for Washington Sundar as India looked to end the series with a clean slate after conceding an unassailable 3-0 lead.Instead, captain Shreyas Iyer he explained that group managers want to try different models instead of just sticking to results.“I just want them to give a big effort, regardless of the results. I just want them to have a strong mindset that they just go and try to find the best in themselves, instead of worrying or being in that situation where you are in a hurry to get out of the game, give yourself time, relax, rest. So just sit in that moment and stop thinking about what has happened or what will happen,” he said while throwing. When asked about the change, Iyer said: “We have two changes. Suryansh Shedge in Washington and Sanju Samson coming to Sooryavanshi. I feel that this is the time when we need to test what works best for us as a team. So based on that, we decided this.”Sooryavanshi, who made his international debut on the tour, endured a tough spell in England after showing promise in Ireland. India chose to give Samson a chance in those last words as he considered what he could do before serving. After winning the toss, India elected to bowl first, but England’s batsmen made good use of the situation. Jos Buttler he smashed 131 off 64 balls, while captain Harry Brook made an unbeaten 95 as the hosts piled up 257/3 in 20 overs. The pair shared a 233-run stand in the second innings after Phil Salt was dismissed early. For India, Shivam Dube picked up two wickets, while Prasidh Krishna got one.
