Atharvaa’s latest release ‘Idhayam Murali’ made its theatrical debut with a modest opening at the box office. The upcoming romantic drama hit the theaters on Friday and recorded a steady start in Tamil Nadu.
Day 1 collections reach Rs 1.90 crore
According to Sacnilk, ‘Idhayam Murali’ collected an estimated Rs 1.90 crore nett in India on its opening day. The film got the number from 1,283 screens across the country.The gross collection in India reached Rs 2.19 crore. The cumulative net collection in India now stands at Rs 1.90 crore.Tamil Nadu generated a gross collection of Rs 1.95 crore. Karnataka followed with Rs 15 lakhs in gross collection, while Kerala contributed Rs 7 lakhs. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana added Rs 1 lakhs and rest of India regions also contributed Rs 1 lakhs.
Romantic drama backed by a young cast
‘Idhayam Murali’ belongs to the coming-of-age romance genre and focuses on the relationships and emotions of the youth. Along with Atharvaa’s lead performance, the film has Kayadu Lohar and Preity Mukhundhan in pivotal roles.The ensemble cast also includes Natty Subramaniam, Ramki, Thaman S, Niharika NM, Rakshan, Dravid Selvam, Sudhakar and Pragya Nagra. Fahadh Faasil’s cameo appearance received good responses online.
