Actress Akansha Ranjan Kapoor and filmmaker Sharan Sharma officially married. The couple married in an intimate civil ceremony on July 11, 2026, surrounded by their closest family members and friends. On Saturday, the actress took to Instagram to share a first look at their special day, offering fans a glimpse into the private celebration.Sharing a series of dreamy wedding photos, Akansha captioned the post, Tu na toh ghar ghar nahi lagta tu hain toh darr nahi lagta,” followed by an infinity emoji. While he imagined a big proposal with friends around, Sharan had something more personal in mind.“I wanted it to be a big bash, but Sharan wasn’t too good about me inviting my friends. The night before the planned celebration, he struggled with a severe allergy. “I was under the covers sneezing and telling him, ‘Turn off the lights, turn off the lights,'” she said. Instead, Sharan played Jack Johnson’s *Angel* — the same song that was later featured at their wedding — and proposed with a ring. “I looked up and said, ‘Trust you to do this when I have an allergy attack.'”Explaining why he chose such a small proposal, Sharan shared, “You hear all the stories of celebrity proposals of musicians and big productions, and I can’t relate to them. I want it to come from the heart. Just the two of us in our safe place, in night suits and pajamas.”The wedding celebrations kicked off with an intimate pre-wedding party at 38 Manhattan, the library-inspired venue located above St. Regis Mumbai. “It’s all wood, chandeliers and open windows. It only fits about 120 people,” Akansha said.For the occasion, she chose a romantic dusty pink creation by: Manish Malhotrawith a strappy tube top, a shimmering fishtail skirt and a delicate sheer dupatta. “I want to be romantic and feminine. I don’t want anything too strong,” she explained.Sharan coordinated a burgundy Manish Malhotra dress paired with black pants. Her ensemble was one of the three looks gifted to her by Karan Johar for the wedding celebrations. After a night of festivities and dancing, guests were treated to the couple’s favorite late-night meal — a 3 am menu with Maggi and French fries.
