In an old interview on Lehren TV, veteran actor Salim Khan stated that people often forget the line between frankness and rudeness. The author commented, “Frank nai ho aap batameez ho” (You are not frank; you are rude.)He continued, “Kisi ke muh pe aisi baat bol di jae jisse usse dukh ho, jisse usse takleef ho, jo woh hamesha zindagi bhar yaad rakhe ki inhone mujhse kya kaha hai…woh achi baat hai?” (Is it good to say something to someone’s face that hurts or offends them—something that they will remember for the rest of their lives, who will really remember what was said to them?) He also added at that time that sometimes, it is better to keep quiet about some things, and avoid conflict than to hurt the feelings of another person.
