India wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul missed the second ODI against England at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff due to illness. The visitors made another change to their playing XI, with Ishan Kishan replacing Rahul.England captain Harry Brook won the toss and elected to bowl first, hoping to capitalize on the situation. Confirming the reason for the toss, Indian skipper Shubman Gill said, “We should have batted first again. Good performance and very happy. We had a great game, I hope we will do it again today. We started well and it was good to see the pacers doing well. Great memories here. We have one change, KL is sick and Ishan comes to him. “Rahul’s illness led to Ishan Kishan’s return to ODIs, taking on wicket-keeping duties. The rest of the Indian XI is unchanged from the opening game, with Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Washington Sundar, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Gurnoor Brar, Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna retaining their places.England made two more changes to their side.
