The Calcutta High Court has ordered the police to arrest Delhi Capitals cricketer Abishek Porel for match-fixing. rape cases and confiscating his electronic devices to prevent the publication of sensitive material related to the complainant. According to the reports of The Indian Express, the court has also asked the police to continue the investigation and arrest him because he has not been arrested yet.Justice Saugata Bhattacharyya, in the order of July 14, said that the police should continue to try to arrest the accused and return electronic devices that may contain material related to the case.The order reads, “It is disclosed in the communication dated July 6, 2026 that one pen has been received from the applicant… and it is believed that some equipment is kept in it… “The communication dated July 6, 2026 reveals the steps taken by the concerned police to arrest…[the accused] but the truth remains…[they] they deserve to be caught. The concerned police have been told to continue their work to arrest the nos. 6 and 7 [accused] and confiscation of the dirty weapons stored in it will not be distributed again.”An FIR was registered last month at Mogra Police Station. The complainant accused Porel of establishing a physical relationship with her on the promise of marriage, filming their intimate moments, and then threatening her. The case also includes criminal threats and other charges.According to the complaint, the two first met in 2023 before meeting in person. The woman claims that Porel forced her to have sex with him and later continued to threaten her via phone, her friend’s Instagram account and another mobile number. The allegations have not yet been confirmed in court, and the investigation is ongoing.
