On July 23, the Affleck family mourned the death of their matriarch Chris Anne Affleck as they shared an obituary in the Boston Globe newspaper. The family confirmed the news that he left for his heavenly home on June 2. Six months ago, the family confirmed that he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was undergoing treatment. A statement from the obituary read that one of Anne’s “greatest wishes after her diagnosis, however, was to live to see her grandson graduate from high school. He did so, attending with his family on May 31, 2026. He died peacefully, in his sleep, two days later.The obituary also mentions how his grandchildren, Indiana, Violet, Atticus, Fin and Sam “were the sustaining force of his last two decades.”
