New Delhi: Former Afghanistan fast bowler Shapoor Zadar died in India on Tuesday, just shy of his 39th birthday, following a long illness. He was being treated at a hospital in India for some time.“It is with deep sorrow and grief that the Afghanistan Cricket Board mourns the death of former Afghanistan fast bowler Shapoor Zadran,” the Afghanistan Cricket Board wrote.Zadran was one of the fastest bowlers in Afghanistan cricket and played a major role in the national team’s promotion to the international stage. He represented Afghanistan in One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is), known for his pace and aggressive bowling.He was part of the generation that helped Afghanistan qualify and compete in major international tournaments, including ICC Cricket World Cup and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which has helped to establish the team as a competitive international side.More to come…
