Honda Cars India has finally launched the much-awaited Honda ZR-V in the Indian market today, priced at Rs 48 lakh (ex-showroom). The ZR-V is offered in only one fully loaded variant and is brought to India as a completely built unit (CBU) from Japan. The hybrid SUV competes with the Volkswagen Tiguan, Skoda Kodiaq, Nissan X-Trail and more.Speaking of the powertrain, the Honda ZR-V is powered by a strong 2.0-liter hybrid gasoline engine with a four-cylinder setup, direct injection that operates on the Atkinson cycle and two permanent magnet synchronous electric motors. Combined output is 184 hp and 315 Nm, with power delivered to the front wheels through an e-CVT transmission. Honda claims a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds, an electronically limited top speed of 171 km/h, and a fuel efficiency of 22.8 kpl. In terms of design, the Honda ZR-V adopts a crossover-like design instead of a traditional vertical SUV shape, with clean surfaces. At the front, it features a large grille and large LED headlights, seamlessly integrated into the fascia to offer a restrained but striking presence. In profile, the SUV appears lower than typical models, with a sloping roofline and a long wheelbase, giving proportions closer to a raised hatchback than a conventional tall SUV. Thin character lines add definition without making the design complex. The rear continues the same approach, with wraparound LED taillights, a slightly curved rear window and a simple tailgate layout. A roof-mounted spoiler adds a slight sporty element while keeping the overall design clean. The exterior is positioned as more urban than rugged. Moving on to the interior, the Honda ZR-V adopts a simple cabin design. The controls are arranged logically, with an emphasis on accessibility from the driver’s seat. The infotainment screen is positioned as a standalone unit at the top of the dashboard, clearly separated from the physical switchgear below. Honda continued to use conventional buttons and rotary controls for functions such as climate controls. In terms of features, it gets a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, dual-zone climate control, a 12-speaker Bose sound system, wireless phone charging, an electric tailgate, front and rear acoustic windshields, front and rear ambient lighting, wipers with integrated washers, A8 and more.
