Kodi Ramakrishna remembers the ‘bad sentiment’ from his first film
Recalling the Asianet incident, Kodi Ramakrishna said that he wanted the first shot of his debut film to be shot in Chiranjeevi. “This is my first film as a director, so I want my first shot to be with Chiranjeevi garu. But he was a little late in arriving at the launch. Everyone insisted that we should start the shoot on Poornima because the producer wanted everything to happen on time. I had no choice but to shoot the first scene with her,” he said. The director added that a few moments later, the camera assistant ran to him and said, “Sir, the camera’s battery is not connected.” Kodi admitted as the entire set fell silent. “Everyone looked at me. People started saying that this is a bad sentiment and that such things cannot happen to a new director in the first shot. I was sad and kept thinking why my first day started like this,” he recalled.
Chiranjeevi’s words changed the mood of the set
When Chiranjeevi finally arrived, he noticed the worried faces and asked what had happened. When he heard about the incident, he broke the atmosphere with his trademark humor. He playfully tells Kodi Ramakrishna that he promised to take the first shot with him, but ends up shooting Poornima. He then urged the director to forget the incident and confidently said, “Now take the first shot with me. “If this film doesn’t run for a year, then ask me.“His positive spirit instantly lifted everyone’s spirits, replacing fear with confidence. According to Kodi Ramakrishna, Chiranjeevi’s positive words gave the entire team new energy to continue the shoot.
The film proves every superstition wrong
As fate would have it, Chiranjeevi’s prediction came true. ‘Intlo Ramayya Veedilo Krishnayya’ became a huge success and reportedly ran in theaters for almost a year. The film also marked the beginning of a successful combination of Chiranjeevi and Kodi Ramakrishna, who later became one of the famous directors of Telugu cinema.
