Dhanush Making headlines not only for his upcoming films but also for rumors surrounding a possible entry into politics. The actor is currently busy with a packed lineup that includes ‘OM,’ a project featuring: Come Selvarajand biographical films based on Ilaiyaraaja and APJ Abdul Kalam. Amidst these announcements, a photo of a fan club banner featuring Dhanush went viral on social media, leading to speculation that the actor was gearing up for a political launch.
Subramaniam Siva rejected the claims of a new political banner
The rumors gained momentum after the flag carried the slogan ‘Ennampol Than Vaazhkai,’ with many claiming it was a newly introduced political symbol. However, director and fan club leader Subramaniam Siva has strongly denied reports of a recent film event. “This is not a newly created flag. Our fan club members have been using this same flag for nearly 15 years during weddings, ear piercing ceremonies, film releases and other celebrations,” he said, as reported by Nakkheeran. He added, “Some fans redesigned it in a smaller format to fit the cars during the fan club meeting this year. People mistakenly thought it was a new flag and linked it to Dhanush’s political entry.” His clarification effectively ended the speculation surrounding the viral image.
Kasthuri Raja answered questions on Dhanush’s entry into politics
Dhanush’s father, filmmaker Kasthuri Raja, was also asked about the actor’s political future at a recent public event. Earlier, he said that members of his family, including his children and grandchildren, may enter politics one day. When asked about Dhanush, he chose not to make any announcement. “As I said before, that question should be asked of Dhanush himself,” says Kasthuri Raja, avoiding further speculation. His measured response was taken as a refusal to confirm any political plans.
The focus of Dhanush’s film remains strong as the political rumors continue
With Vijay’s successful transition from cinema to politics, discussions about which actor might follow a similar path became common in Tamil film circles. Dhanush’s name always comes up in such conversations, especially when fan club activities attract attention online. Despite the ongoing rumours, both Subramaniam Siva and Kasthuri Raja have clarified that there is no official confirmation of a political move. Meanwhile, Dhanush is busy with his film commitments, with several big projects lined up for release in the next few years.
