Thalapathy Vijay’s ‘Jana Nayagan’ registered a noticeable drop in its second day collections at the box office after opening on a strong note. While the film’s earnings slowed on Friday, it continued its impressive theatrical run by crossing the ₹50 crore India net milestone in just two days of release.According to Sacnilk, ‘Jana Nayagan’ earned an estimated Rs 21.15 crore nett in India on Day 2. The figure marks a 50.5 percent decline from the opening day collection of Rs 42.70 crore nett. The total nett collection in India now stands at Rs 63.85 crore.
The total gross is Rs 112 crore mark
On its second day, ‘Jana Nayagan’ collected Rs 10 crore gross from the international markets.This pushed the total gross of the film to Rs 37.50 crore. Meanwhile, the gross collection in India reached Rs 75 crore after two days in theatres.Combining the domestic and overseas earnings, the film’s worldwide gross collection rose to Rs 112.50 crore.
The Tamil version continues to dominate the collections
The Tamil version once again contributed the lion’s share of the film’s earnings on Friday as it collected Rs 17.95 crore nett.The Hindi version added Rs 1.85 crore nett, while the Telugu version earned Rs 1.35 crore nett on Day 2.The Mamitha Baiju starrer recorded an overall occupancy of 44.33 percent, with the audience increasing as the day progressed. Morning shows registered 32.77 percent occupancy, which increased to 37.23 percent in the afternoon, 47 percent in the evening and increased to 60.31 percent in the evening shows.The Hindi version posted an overall occupancy of 11.48 percent, while the Telugu version recorded 22.77 percent occupancy throughout the day.
Tamil Nadu remains the largest market
Tamil Nadu continued to lead the film’s box office performance on Day 2. The state contributed Rs 15 crore gross.Karnataka followed with Rs 3.22 crore gross. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana together contributed Rs 2 crore, while Kerala also added Rs 2 crore. The rest of India cost Rs 2.50 crore gross.Overall, the film’s Day 2 India total collection stands at Rs 24.72 crore.
