BJP MP and actress Kangana Ranaut The CJP criticized the ongoing protest near Parliament, saying the demonstrations should not be used to “arm-twist” or force the government to decide who stays in office. Speaking to the media outside Parliament during the Monsoon Session on Monday (July 20), Kangana said Parliament is the appropriate forum for debating public issues and discussing government decisions, rather than resolving such matters through protests.“Our Parliamentary sessions are specifically meant for us to discuss all issues in a broad and detailed manner and to raise relevant questions,” he replied.He also opposed protests that could disrupt proceedings, saying the elected government had a mandate to handle the demonstrations without pressure. and who will remain; this kind of arm twisting is unacceptable. Gradually, everyone will turn to the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Sanatan culture because it is our own culture, while everything else is borrowed from the rest of the world,” Kangana added. Kangana Ranaut’s comments came amid growing protests by the CJP near Parliament in the ongoing Monsoon Session.Meanwhile, demonstrators who tried to march towards Parliament were met by heavy security deployment in central Delhi. The CJP alleged that the police resorted to a lathi-charge to stop the protesters, a claim denied by the Delhi Police, which stated that no such action took place.As the march continued towards Parliament, the police later fired tear gas shells to disperse the crowd. Authorities had earlier stated that permission for the march had not been granted and warned that any unauthorized procession towards Parliament would not be allowed.In a related development, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke ended his hunger strike, while an activist Sonam Wangchuk announced that he will continue his indefinite fast from Safdarjung Hospital.
Bollywood supports Sonam Wangchuk’s protest
Sonam Wangchuk’s campaign for constitutional safeguards and environmental protection in Ladakh has received widespread support from some prominent voices in the film industry.
