Nafisa Ali revealed that ‘Max, Min and Meowzaki’ deals with issues affecting young people, such as mental health, grief, and emotional struggles, as well as the realities of aging. “Aging is a reality, and there are many issues related to it that we think very little about. It’s important to bring out that sensitivity. It is a young film that is appreciated and recognized internationally,” the 69-year-old told ANI.Additionally, Ali noted that while theater viewing can be expensive for families, he wants more people to watch after the OTT release. “My wish is that families can watch it together at home because it’s a story that touches your heart and changes your thinking,” he told the outlet, before adding, “That’s very important to Indian Cinema: now.” Talking about the issues faced by the youth, he admitted that such films can bring positive change in solving psychological problems.

Nafisa Ali was diagnosed with stage 3 peritoneal and ovarian cancer in 2018 and was in remission. However, the devastating disease returned last year. Opening up about how he went through the pain and the diagnosis, he said, “I knew my stomach pain was cancer, but the doctors couldn’t diagnose, and it ended up being stage 4. I came back to Delhi after two months, and I told my doctor, ‘I don’t agree with your diagnosis.’ There must be something wrong with me,'” in a previous interview with Fit Tak.Ali breaks down in front of the doctor, sharing that he was misdiagnosed. “I was very sad. I actually cried in front of the doctor and said, ‘I’m the last person to go to the doctor, and if I come again and again, you have to take it seriously,'” he said, recalling how professionals finally noticed his illness.
