According to the since-deleted statement, the incident took place at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad after the day’s shooting was over. It stated that Sharma was talking to local technicians in a bushy area when he was reportedly bitten by an insect, possibly a bug or a poisonous spider.

According to the statement, Sharma initially did not think the bite was serious enough to warrant immediate medical attention. It was only after this that his condition reportedly worsened and he was eventually hospitalized.

AICWA is demanding a high-level investigation
In a post on X, AICWA called for: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to direct a high-level investigation into the incident. The labor body has also insisted that the film producer will pay the actor’s medical expenses and is pushing for strict legal action if the investigation reveals any negligence. AICWA President: Suresh: Shyamlal Gupta, in the statement, raised questions about whether proper emergency protocols were in place on the set, and questioned why Sharma was not rushed to a top hospital in Hyderabad when his condition became critical during the shoot.
AICWA seeks accountability and safety answers
AICWA also called for clarification on several fronts. whether there are adequate emergency medical facilities on location, whether workplace health and safety rules are being followed, and what exactly happened on set that caused the actor’s condition to deteriorate so quickly. The association added that if the investigation uncovers any negligence or safety violations, strict legal action must be followed against those responsible, stressing that no individual or production house, regardless of the size or budget of the film, is above liability. It further urged the makers to take full responsibility for Sharma’s medical expenses and ensure that he gets the best possible care till he fully recovers.

Reports suggest that the actor continues to be under medical observation. While there has been an improvement in his condition, doctors have not yet declared him out of danger.
