Speculation surrounds the worldwide distribution of directors Nitesh Tiwariupcoming epicRamayana:‘ gained new momentum after the Consul General of India in Los Angeles, Dr KJ Srinivasa, addressed reports about the film in a conversation at the Indian Film Festival in Los Angeles.The discussion arose after Digital creator Sabeen Faheem shared a video of her interaction on social media. Along with the clip, he wrote, “It’s high time Indian cinema gets the respect of the whole world!” He added, “This year and we are talking about the impact of Indian cinema. We are also talking about the importance of South Asian American media and how we can be THE BRIDGE to be better understood and respected.”During the conversation, Dr. Srinivasa sowed the seeds of growing international interest in Indian cinema and recalled the response to ‘Ramayana’ at CinemaCon earlier this year. He shared, “What we found is that there are already clients for Indian films, but there is a lack of education about what India stands for, and what India can do. I think that we need the help of the media like you, to educate people on both sides of the continental borders. Indian films have always made a global impact, and this is the longest time we have formalized our relationship with Hollywood. Talking about the industry’s interest in ‘Ramayana’ during the event, he added, “At Cinema Con, I realized that it is something that will attract Hollywood producers to have the opportunity to meet people who actually came to see how to promote Ramayana. There are people there, producers, advertisers, but at the same time, people from all over the world, famous directors like James Cameron are there.”When asked specifically about the rumors that Warner Bros. Pictures can distribute Ramayana around the world, Dr Srinivasa said, “Not really, because you know, they don’t want…”While there is no official announcement from the filmmakers or Warner Bros. in terms of international film distribution, the industry chatter has been going on since ‘Ramayana’ made a splash at CinemaCon, which also played host to several big-ticket films including ‘Avengers. Doomsday’, ‘The Odyssey’ and ‘Dune. Part 3’, among many other films.‘Ramayana’ stars: Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Yash: as Ravana and: Sai Pallavi said Sita. The first look of the film which was released earlier this year, has already created significant buzz, with fans eagerly awaiting further updates on its trailer and other promotional assets rumored to be released this month.
