Singer Shweta Mohan shared an emotional tribute to legendary playback singer S. Janaki:who died on Sunday in Mysuru at the age of 88. Taking to his social media handle, the ‘Njan Chendena’ singer said the loss has left a huge void in his life.

Shweta Mohan shared pictures of a heartfelt moment with S Janaki

In her Instagram post, Shweta Mohan shared several pictures of her with S. Janaki from one of their meetings. There he can be seen in complete joy to meet the legendary figure. The post also included a video where S. Janaki gave a gift to Shweta who couldn’t contain her excitement and touched her feet. Another picture shows them eating together, with Shweta serving S. Janaki.In his caption he said how much Janaki means to him as a singer and as a person. Shweta said that Janaki’s music has always been a part of her journey and that Janaki will always remain her biggest inspiration.“My Queen Janakiamama is gone… I have lost a piece of my heart and a part of my musical soul (heart break emoji) I love her so much. Every day of my musical journey she is there. Her songs and her singing are a ‘textbook’ that I learn from,” he wrote.

He added, “I rate him as the best singer the world has ever seen. I repeat — the Best Singer the world has ever seen … There is nothing he has not done with his vocals – the power, the size, the emotion, the style, the breath control, the perfection, the versatility, the birth of diction in every language – he is an incomparable heart to sing and to rule.

Shweta Mohan talks about S Janaki besides being a singing legend

Shweta Mohan said that she admired S. Janaki not only for her music but also for her personality. He wrote, “Even personality wise, I admire her a lot – the way she is a Mother to everyone around her. She is always true and pure, loving and mature, calm and strong, approachable and down-to-earth, but still casual enough to be the perfect queen that she is.” He said that Janaki’s caring nature and humble personality made everyone around her feel loved and respected. Shweta also recalls working closely with S. Janaki for the past two years on S. Janaki — The Composer. He wrote, “I had the greatest fortune to work closely with him during the last two years at ‘S. Janaki – The Composer’, where Amma made me sing four songs, composed and written by herself. I learned so much in the process and became very emotional with Amma. I don’t think I will ever recover from this loss. It is very difficult to sing in concert today after hearing the news that he is gone. But I will learn to turn this pain into a celebration of his life and his work. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
