During one of his most recent interviews, Sudeikis admitted that at first, he almost said no to the proposal for Season 4 when it landed on his desk.

While talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Sudeikis revealed that he personally feels that his character’s story has been told, and that he doesn’t want to change everything again in a new season. Weighing in on the matter, he shared, “That was not a negotiating tactic. The story was told. Ted went home [to Kansas City] to be with his son. I’m not going to let Ted take their lives to justify a truckload of money. It makes no sense to me.”Sudeikis also added that money is never an issue. According to the report, Sudeikis received USD 1 million for each episode he worked on in season 3 of the beloved show. However, what changed his mind were the fans. He shared that he saw how important the role and the show are to people around the world, and he had to rejoin the series because of all this. He added, “It (the show) also saved me.”Sudekis also mentioned, “It’s infectious to play a character who sees the best in people and isn’t angry at the world for all its failures and bullies and shadows.

The series follows the story of an American football coach, Ted Lasso, who has no soccer experience; however, he was still hired to train a British soccer team.
