Tom Holland takes advice from Robert Downey Jr.

Robert Downey Jr. earned an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2024 for his work in ‘Oppenheimer’ by Christopher Nolan. In fact, Tom Holland had a long talk with fellow Avenger after landing the role of Odysseus’ son, Telemachus. “Yes, I definitely talked to Robert Downey for a long time. And then one of my best friends in life worked with Chris for, I think, 20 years,” he said in an interview to PTI.

“He’s our stunt coordinator. And every time he and I get together for dinner, he says to me, ‘You have to do whatever it takes to find yourself on a Christopher Nolan set,'” continued the actor. In addition, Holland stated that as an actor, he has the advantage of standing in the middle of the set – even when the cameras are not rolling.“And for me, I like to learn from people by watching them and seeing the way they behave and treat people and work with people. So for me, I have the perfect footsteps to try and follow Annie (Anne Hathaway) and Matt [Damon]. So I’m a bit spoiled for choice when it comes to lessons,” he said in conversation.As for Tom Holland, he is ready for more releases. ‘The Odyssey’ will hit theaters on July 17, 2026, while ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ will be released on July 31, 2026.
