Zimbabwe has announced the T20I squad for India, Tafadzwa Tsiga has been named as the first team

Zimbabwe have named a 15-man squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against India, with batsman Tafadzwa Tsiga being called up for the first time. All-rounder Wessly Madhevere and speedster Newman Nyamhuri also return to the squad, replacing Clive Madande, Tinotenda Maposa and Tashinga Musekiwa. The matches will be played in Harare on July 23, 25 and 26. Tsiga, who has already played 10 Tests for Zimbabwe, is in line to make his international debut. Madhevere will return to the T20I team for the first time since July 2025 after playing regularly in Tests and ODIs against Bangladesh. Nyamhuri returns as he recovers from the injury that ruled him out of Bangladesh’s ODI series, while Tanaka Chivanga retains his place after impressing as his replacement.Sikandar Raza will continue as Zimbabwe’s captain after leading the team to a memorable series against Bangladesh, where they won the one-match Test by an innings and took the ODI series 2-1 before losing the T20I series 2-1.Zimbabwe now face a tough challenge against reigning T20 World Cup rivals India. Although India enter the series after recent defeats to Ireland and England, they remain one of the strongest teams in the format.
