Jason Sanjayson of an artist Vijay:revealed why he chose not to make his acting debut despite receiving an offer from a renowned Malayalam filmmaker Alphonse Puthren Years ago As he prepared for the release of his directorial debut ‘Sigma’, Jason opened up about the decision that shaped his journey in the film industry. In a recent interview with Ananda Vikatan, Jason shared that acting was never part of his plans. However, he was more interested in understanding filmmaking and eventually became a director. That interest eventually led him behind the camera rather than in front of it.

Alphonse Puthren approached him at the age of 20

Jason recalls that Alphonse Puthren, best known for directing ‘Premam’, ‘Neram’, ‘Gold’, approached him with a film proposal when he was around 20 years old. At that time, Jason was still studying and had not yet decided to enter the film industry professionally.According to Jason, the filmmaker was planning a coming-of-age story and contacted him after seeing one of his photos. Although the offer came from a director he greatly admired, Jason felt he was not ready to accept it.He explained that he politely declined the opportunity without even listening to the narration. Jason said he didn’t want to hear the full story and later turned down the project, because he loved Alphonse Puthren. However, he encouraged the team to find someone better suited to the role.Despite declining the offer, Jason describes the experience as a proud and unforgettable moment in his life.

Vijay used to talk about his son’s career choice

Earlier, Vijay shared on the promotions of ‘Beast’ in 2022, about his son’s future. The ‘Jana Nayagan’ actor clarified that the decision is always up to Jason.Vijay said, “I really don’t know what’s on his mind. I don’t have any wishes, it’s all his interest. If he wants my support, it’s his.”He added, “Some people ask if he will act. However I will tell him about the events and ask him to call. However, he said that he needs two years’ time. Meanwhile, the director of Premam Alphonse Puthren came to tell a story and I thought it was for me but he told me that it was for my son. When I told him, he said he wanted more time. Only he knows whether he is in front of the camera or behind it. I’ll be happy with whatever he does.”Jason is set to make his debut as a filmmaker in ‘Sigma’, starring: Sundeep Kishan in the lead role.
