Singer and dubbing artist Chinmayi Sripaada Speaks out against online abuse directed at her family after social media trolls target her filmmaker-actor husband Rahul Ravindranand their three-year-old twins. The backlash followed Rahul’s comments on the alleged murder case involving Ketan Agarwal and his fiancée Siya Goyal. While Rahul recently left X (formerly Twitter), Chinmayi continues to address the issue through social media, condemning the abusive messages.
Chinmayi said the trolls targeted her son
In a seven-minute video posted on Twitter (X), Chinmayi said Rahul Ravindran decided to leave the platform after seeing a post wishing their son dead. He said, “Rahul’s tolerance hit a breaking point the moment he saw this particular tweet, saying that he will pray for my son’s death. And he called many people in his bhajana mandali to pray for my son’s death. This is simply because they cannot control their emotions or their anger. He also talked about the culture of rape, abuse of women, sexual harassment and increasing hate online, saying that exposing children to such attacks exceeds all limits. He added, “If you abuse my children, I want nothing but terror, a long life, and a horrible life at that.”
Chinmayi shared screenshots as the harassment continued
Chinmayi later shared screenshots of messages she said were sent by trolls targeting her family. In her post, she wrote that some Telugu social media users wished her children dead because they considered her “anti-feminist” and against women speaking out. She also said that she and Rahul are parents to three-year-old twins and said that online groups continue to spread hate against her children. Chinmayi further stated that those who encourage such behavior should not be supported on social media.
