However, he said he was truly happy when Mammootty was announced as one of the winners.He said, “I feel proud and happy that I was considered for the award along with Mammootty. When I came to know that my name was also on the shortlist, I was very stressed. I am happy that Malayalam cinema is once again receiving recognition from the National Film Awards. I am even more happy that the award went to Mammootty.”
