Breakout actress: Anjali Anand recently shared inspiring behind-the-scenes secrets from the sets of: Karan JoharThe 2023 romantic drama, ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’, which featured an unexpected and highly sensitive gesture from his co-star, Ranveer Singh. In a candid conversation, the actress who was most recently seen in the star-studded ensemble comedy Dhamaal 4 alongside Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh recalled how a delay in scheduling her first day of filming prompted Ranveer to take personal responsibility and offer a genuine apology.
Karan Johar’s sweet gesture on the set
In an interview with India Today, Anjali reflected on a moment she still holds close to her heart. Sharing the memory, she said, “One memory from Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani that I will always cherish is when we shot my breakout scene. Karan (Johar) sir loved the take so much that he came up to me and kissed me on my forehead. I will never forget that.” The actor also spoke about the special relationship he developed with the legendary actor Dharmendra: during filming, describing those precious moments. “Another special memory is spending time with Dharamji on the sets. I would just sit with him for hours, and he would recite his poetry and shayaris to me. Those moments are precious,” he said.
Ranveer Singh makes her feel comfortable on the set
Anjali further praised Ranveer, calling him an inspiring and thoughtful co-star who kept her at ease throughout the shoot. “Working with Ranveer was incredible. Every scene with him was so much fun because he was such an inspiring and generous co-actor. I remember my first day on the shoot, we couldn’t complete my scene. I had already posted on Instagram saying that I can’t wait for my first day in a big film. Ranveer saw it and came up to me saying, ‘I’m so sorry.’I told him, ‘Ranveer, only you know that my scene didn’t happen. Everyone thinks I’m shooting now,'” he added.The actor added that what surprised him the most was the way Ranveer took responsibility in a situation that was out of his control. “What touched me was that he was sensitive. He really apologized for not being able to film my scene because his schedule was late. The next day, he made sure he was present at my shoot. After my scene, he even went and got feedback from the team before coming back to encourage me. That means a lot,” he said.He shared that even though the film is over, their friendship continues over time. “We’ve kept in touch over the years. We’ve seen each other at friends’ weddings and other social gatherings, and she’s always so beautiful. I look at Dhurandhar – I love it. The hair flip is so good. She’s absolutely killing it, and I’m so happy for her. She deserves all this success and more. I love her,” Anjali concluded.
