The Mission: Impossible star took to social media on Thursday to congratulate Nolan, producer Emma Thomas and the entire cast and crew consisting of Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom HollandRobert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Elliot Page and others. Sharing a picture from outside the IMAX 70mm theater, Cruise wrote, “Wow! To Chris, Emma and ALL of your brilliant cast and crew. Thank you for an amazing night at the movies. Can’t wait to see it again!”
‘The Odyssey’ opens to rave reviews
Cruise’s endorsement comes ahead of the theatrical release of ‘The Odyssey’. Directed by Christopher Nolan, the film follows Homer’s ancient Greek epic and stars Damon as Odysseus, the legendary king of Ithaca, who begins his perilous journey home after the Trojan War in a bid to reunite with his wife Penelope and son Telemachus.The star-studded ensemble also includes Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Jon Bernthal, Travis Scott and Charlize Theron, among others. Prior to its release, the film garnered widespread critical acclaim, with a 96 percent critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes at the time of publication.
