In 1981, Sanjay Dutt made his Bollywood debut with ‘Rocky.’ Back then, he was one of the most in-demand actors, and till now, his charisma never fails to seize the day. However, there is a period in the actor’s life that is called the most controversial chapter. In March 1993, he was arrested in connection with a series of bombings in Bombay (now Mumbai). He was charged with illegal possession of weapons, and Dutt is serving his term in instalments. But, as they say, every phase of your life comes for a reason; it teaches you a lesson. In his 5 years of imprisonment, Sanjay Dutt also learned a lesson in forgiveness. And interestingly, he learned this from a: scoundrel (constable).

Bollywood’s prolific star, Sanjay Dutt, recently joined Dr D Nageshwar Reddy at AIG Hospitals, where he opened up about what his imprisonment taught him. The topic was raised as the host and the guest talked about the fame of Sanjay Dutt ‘jadu ki jhappi’ and the value of sorry and thank you. These two simple terms prevent a person, said Dr. Reddy. In addition to his statement, Sanjay Dutt spoke about the importance of forgiveness.Looking back on his time behind bars, he shared, “I learned this during my time in prison as well. I learned to forgive.”“A hawaldar (constable) taught me this. He told me, ‘Learn to forgive people, and you will improve in your life,'” said the ‘Vaastav’ actor.He explained how the constable told him that regardless of the people who hurt him, he should do the forgiveness. The actor added that, although it seems like a noble thought, it is easier said than done. “But it’s very difficult to do that,” he admitted.“That’s the main thing,” he concluded.

Sanjay Dutt wishes his father was still alive to see him free

Sanjay Dutt was released from prison in 2016, a decade after the death of his father Sunil Dutt. When he opened up about the same during his interaction with the aforementioned publication, he shared, “The day I was released after the final verdict, it was the happiest moment of my life. I miss my father (Sunil Dutt). I wish he was alive to see me free. He would have been the happiest person.”He gave the message that family is the greatest strength and should not be neglected.
