Although the southpaw has been able to remain among the runners, consistency has never been Samson’s friend. Whether this sends a positive message to the team and the players is a separate discussion, but this move was the right one to give Sooryavanshi the rope he earned, even if it comes at the cost of shooting someone else. Prabhsimran Singh’s international debut sends another message. Even if Kishan, Sharma, or Sooryavanshi have failures or inconsistent journeys, Prabhsimran is ready to take his chances, and it could be a tough road back for the experienced Samson. Although he was not the only player missing from the England squad, he is the only player left. Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, Washington Sundar and Axar Patel also missed the cut. Changes in Asian Games Association
