Veteran Malayalam actor RajasekharanRajasekharan, popularly known for his memorable portrayals of police officers on screen, died on Sunday at his residence in Chingavanam in Kerala’s Kottayam district. The cause of his death has not been disclosed.A familiar face in Malayalam cinema and television, Rajasekharan is best known for essaying the roles of sub-inspectors and police officers in several films, earning him the affectionate sobriquet “SI Rajasekharan” among audiences and colleagues.

According to reports, Rajasekharan appeared in more than 100 Malayalam films during his career. His notable credits include Sandarbham, Rajavinte Makan, Vazhiyorakazchakal, Nair Saab, Mudra, Sethurama Iyer CBI, No. 20 Madras Mail, Thappana, Parassala Pachan Payyannur Paramu, and Oru Second Class Yathra.Apart from films, he is also an active presence on Malayalam television, appearing in many popular serials over the years.
