And memories, unlike time, are faithful companions. They return without a command, bringing with them every smile, every look, every word, as if nothing had really been lost. Remembering someone is perhaps the purest proof that they are not forgotten. I always believed that Sahib gave me an immeasurable wealth before he left this earthly world. a storehouse of memories so rich that I will spend the rest of my days living with them. On this day, the 7th of July, 2021, Dilip: Kumar left not only me, but a whole world that loved him. His family, friends, admirers and cinema brothers are left with a void that words cannot describe. But, for me, he is more than the person the world celebrates. He is the strong anchor in my life, the quiet strength I rely on.” “Our life is not just a life together, but a life fulfilled. Such is the generosity of his spirit and the grace with which he carries every responsibility, that he allows me the rare privilege of being his partner. But those who really knew him will remember a gentle nobility. a philanthropist, a cherished friend, and above all, a man whose compassion knows no bounds in his dignity. In retrospect, I realized that I was not only witnessing history, I was living in it. Unknowingly, I became a humble part of a legacy that will continue to be celebrated for generations”, he added.
Saira Banu on love that is not ‘subject to time’
The actress concluded, “Five years have passed since Sahib left my sight, but never disappeared from my life. And that is a blessing for which my soul will remain grateful until we meet again.”
