According to early box office estimates, ‘The Odyssey’ has collected Rs 6.50 crore nett on Day 6 (Wednesday) in 8,268 screens in India. The film registered a 22.2% decline from Tuesday’s net collection of Rs 8.35 crore.
‘The Odyssey’ recorded a good box office run in India
‘The Odyssey’ started its theatrical run with a Rs 17.40 crore net opening on Friday before witnessing a massive improvement over the weekend. By the end of its debut weekend, the film has collected an estimated Rs 61.30 crore nett, driven by strong occupancy in premium IMAX formats and positive word of mouth.Although the weekday collections dipped to around Rs 8 crore, the epic managed to maintain a steady hold at the box office before a bigger decline on Wednesday.
‘The Odyssey’ crossed Rs 100 crore
Considering the film’s earnings on Wednesday, the movie now boasts of a total collection in India of approximately Rs 84.15 crore, while the gross collection in India has reached approximately Rs 100.38 crore.The latest numbers make ‘The Odyssey’ the 21st Hollywood release to cross the Rs 100 crore gross mark in India. This huge success marks the second film by Christopher Nolan and Matt Damon to hit the milestone in the country. The two previously worked on the blockbuster, ‘Oppenheimer’ (2023), which remains in the top 10 highest grossing Hollywood releases in India with a lifetime collection of Rs 128.46 crore.
The English version continues to dominate
The original English-language version of the film remains the largest contributor to its total earnings in India. Of the estimated Rs 84.15 crore net collected so far, the English version has grossed approximately Rs 66.55 crore, highlighting the strong demand for Nolan’s films in their original language.Meanwhile, the Hindi, Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions collectively contributed under Rs 20 crore, adding to the film’s total tally across the country.
