An FIR was filed by actor, producer Vidnyan Mane who made several allegations against him and alleged that Palash cheated him of Rs 40 lakhs. In the latest update on the legal dispute, a sessions court in Sangli rejected his anticipatory bail application in a case registered against him under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. His legal team confirmed to challenge the decision before a higher court.According to court documents accessed, the Sangli sessions court dismissed Muchhal’s anticipatory bail plea on Friday, July 10. Confirming the development, Muchhal’s lawyer, advocate Abhijit Desai, told HT City, “Yes the news is true and we are planning to challenge the order.”Earlier this year, Mane had told the same portal that Muchhal had cheated him of over Rs 40 lakh in connection with an investment in an unreleased film. He also accused the singer of cheating on his ex-girlfriend, Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana.Responding to the allegations at the time, Muchhal announced that he had initiated legal action against Mane. In a post on social media, he wrote, “A legal defamation notice of Rs 10 crore has been sent to my lawyer Shreyansh Mithare of Sangli based Vidnyan Mane for his false, presumptuous and highly defamatory accusations made with the deliberate intention of damaging my reputation and character.Mane, who is based in Sangli and is a childhood friend of Smriti Mandhana, is closely associated with the former couple. Muchhal and Mandhana were engaged and expected to tie the knot in Sangli in November 2025, but the wedding was eventually called off. The two confirmed their split through social media.According to Mane’s complaint, the latest incident happened on November 22 at a toll plaza on the Sangli-Ashta road. He alleged that during a confrontation, Muchhal made caste-based derogatory remarks against him.Following the complaint, the police registered an FIR under Section 3(1) of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, along with Sections 351(2) and 352.According to the report, the dispute was linked to an alleged financial transaction. Police said Muchhal took Rs 25 lakh from Mane for a film production venture. When Mane repeatedly asked for the money back, it is said that this resulted in an argument between the two that culminated in the incident that led to the current case.
