‘Heads of State’, starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas alongside John Cena and Idris Elba, earned a nomination for Outstanding Television Movie at the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards.The nominations for this year’s Emmy Awards were announced Wednesday at the Television Academy in Los Angeles by recent Emmy winners Liza Colón-Zayas and Jeff Hiller. ‘Heads of State’, the action comedy, will compete in the Outstanding Television Movie category against ‘Miss You, Love You’, ‘Remarkably Bright Creatures’, ‘People We Meet on Vacation’ and ‘Jack Ryan. Among this year’s nominees, ‘The Pitt’ emerged as the most nominated drama with 25 nominations, while ‘Hacks’ topped the comedy categories with 24 nominations, setting a new record for the most nominations received by a comedy series in a year.HBO Max leads all networks and streaming platforms with 122 total nominations and has three series nominated in the Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Comedy Series categories.The nominations also featured many notable names in television and entertainment. Rob Reiner received a posthumous nomination for his guest role in ‘The Bear’, while Bad Bunny earned nine nominations for his Super Bowl halftime show special.Newlyweds Taylor Swift also picked up five nominations for The Eras Tour – The Final Show, including a nomination in his capacity as a producer. Swift previously won an Emmy in 2015 for Outstanding Interactive Program and is also a 14-time Grammy Award winner.
