Rajpal Yadav has been in the midst of a legal tussle since the last few months. After he got bail and was released from Tihar jail in the Rs 9 crore debt case, the actor was given time to repay the debt but he continued to violate court orders. For those who don’t know, Rajpal Yadav is in a legal battle with Madhavav Gopal Agrawal, representing M/s Murali Projects Pvt Ltd. According to the court’s verdict on Friday, Yadav got no relief and was sentenced to three months in jail.Explaining why the actor was given three months in jail, Advocate Avnish Sikka, representing Murli Projects Pvt Ltd, said, as reported by ANI, “Today, the cases filed by Rajpal Yadav are reserved for orders. Delhi High Court judge, all 21 cases filed by Rajpal Yadav were dismissed, and the order passed by the Sessions court was upheld. The court ordered him to undergo imprisonment for three months; He was also ordered to pay a fine of Rs 1.05 crores in each case. The sentence of 3 months imprisonment shall run concurrently. Mrs. Radha Rajpal Yadav is also one of the accused in these cases. He was ordered to pay Rs 5 lakh as fine in each case. While the case was being stated, his lawyer prayed for a trial. The court denied his relief for probation. The court considered the repeated violation of his tasks given by the court, coupled with the fact that on the last day Rajpal Yadav said, ‘I am ready to go to jail 5 times but will not pay a single cent.’ He was given two months to comply with the order or challenge the sentence in the Supreme Court.”For the uninitiated, earlier, businessman Madhav Gopal Agrawal, who had lent Rs 5 crore to the actor for his 2012 directorial venture ‘Ata Pata Laapata’ said, agreed to the loan after Rajpal’s wife, Radha, sent him emotional messages pleading for help. He emphasized that the agreement clearly states that the payment will not be influenced by the film’s box office performance, censor certification, or any other obstacle. The actor, he said, also gave a personal guarantee. The businessman added that the transaction is strictly a loan and not an investment, noting that investments usually do not include personal guarantees or post-dated checks.Since then, Yadav has refused to return the money. Agarwal also said that early in the conflict, he visited the actor’s residence and “wept in front of him like a child,” explaining that the funds he lent himself were borrowed by others. He said that he repeatedly asked Rajpal to give a specific date to conclude a new agreement.
