Vijay and Dhoni also have an interesting connection in cinema. In Vijay’s 2024 blockbuster ‘The Greatest of All Time’ (GOAT), directed by Venkat Prabhu, archived IPL footage featuring MS Dhoni will be seen in one of the sequences. The footage also includes other cricketers like Ravindra Jadeja and Ruturaj Gaikwad.Although Dhoni did not shoot a new cameo for the film, the sequence affected the climax of the movie. Many fans joked on social media that Vijay “saved” Dhoni in true GOAT style, as the climax revolved around the actor taking down the villain who planted a bomb in a stadium where Dhoni was playing.
